Aventurine
Aventurine is a type of quartz or chalcedony gemstone that has a shimmering effect. It’s known as the “Stone of Opportunity” and is believed to symbolize good luck, inner peace, and creative inspiration. Aventurine is most commonly green, but can also be blue, red, orange, gray, or brown.
Aventurine is feebly translucent and has a speckled, metallic sheen. This effect comes from small flakes or scales, usually muscovite mica, but may also be hematite or goethite, that are contained within the gemstone. The name aventurine comes from the Italian phrase a ventura, which means “by chance”.
